go. - Work out what you would like to
achieve while away or what you would like to give back. - If it’s volunteering and
adventure you are after, make sure you go through a reputable company. - Ask about safety systems and
sustainability of the projects you will be working on. This is your trip and you need to be sure you
will be well looked after and the projects are of real benefit to the area’s in
which they are set up.
- Work out the total cost of
trip, including things like vaccinations, visa and any specialist kit you
may need and spending money. This
bit can be quiet scary, but there is help. - Get a job and start to
save. Fundraising is a great money
booster and a good company will be able to assist you with this - Confirm your place. Make sure you put down a deposit as soon
as you have decided what you want to do.
The moment you commit the easier saving and fundraising
become. It also avoids

Get insured as early as possibly. - Have fun with it. You will need to work hard to reach your
goals, but once that plane takes off, it will be well worth the effort. - Make the most of it. You only get one gap year, so get stuck
in. Say yes to opportunity, get
speaking to the locals and leave your inhibitions behind. You are about to embark on the journey
