The story of the building of the Transcontinental Railroad, which allowed uninterrupted travel from the East to the West coast of the USA is one of outstanding human accomplishment.
Started during the war that divided the United States, the construction of the First Transcontinental Railroad was completed after the Civil War and heralded an era of new unity and hope for the United States.
