Let us look at this green earth idea realistically. Certainly the Earth is home to all of us; plants, animals and humans. We must ask ourselves these questions, why do we, as a collective, not take care with the Earth? Why do we act as if we are guests on our planet?

We live in homes. We live on the Earth. Our homes are expendable. Our planet is not. We take care of our homes, but not the Earth. We live as though this planet will give as much as we want for as long as we want. The truth is, the Earth will give until it is empty and cannot give anymore. The planet does not care about us; we need to care about the planet.

It is easy to say "Why should I care?” Stop and consider where you would be had the earth been sucked dry just three generations ago. The situation is clear. We have lost our true connection as a whole to our planet. We are creating the end of humanity, here and now. Each of us must resolve that lack of caring within ourselves.

So, where does your ability to care stop? You care about your children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Most people lose the sense of caring, the connection, and the responsibility, about three generations into the future. Live each day for those who will be born many generations from now. If we don’t worry about the Earth today, there will not be a home for those born in seven generations.

If one seven generations out could confront you today and ask "Why?” What would your answer be? What would you change about how you live? Don’t wait. Make those changes now.

The need for a green planet is apparent. The responsibility should be clear. If you want to be a starting point for those born centuries from now you must do your part to keep our planet Earth green and plentiful.

Over the next several centuries, no one organization is going to save us from making our planet uninhabitable for mankind. We must talk and act now. Do you think that the EPA, for example, will exist 400 years from now? Groups and organizations are great, but their strength and capabilities are only as good as the individuals in them. Why shouldn't we discuss this as individuals? We need to bring our awareness to the higher level. We need to set and keep a place suitable for those yet to be born.

Let's make our home, our planet, ready.
