The idea of giving someone an engagement ring is a massive decision and one with many repercussions.  This is because when someone chooses an engagement ring for their partner to be they are committing to that person for the rest of both their lives.  They live in hope their partner will say ‘yes I do’ and that they will have a long, prosperous and happy life for as long as they both shall live.

Not too long ago, it was customary for men to propose to women.  How they went about it was up to them but it is fair to say it was likely to have been far simpler than it is today.  Nowadays, men still propose to women more than the other way around but less so than in the past.  This is because women equal rights in society today, thanks to the suffragettes in the early part of the 20^th century.

Choosing the perfect engagement ring can be an extremely hard decision.  This is because people never know exactly how their partners will react to what they buy them.  There are so many different types of engagement rings these days that choosing the perfect ring can take a long while.  Those buying must take a leap of faith that they know what their partner is likely to want and go with their instinct.  To be honest though, most engagement rings are so beautiful anyway that it is hard not to choose the perfect one.

The amount of engagement rings on the market is vast and there are so many different places to get them.  The decision can therefore take a long while.  This long while however, is most likely to be a joy by the one purchasing it as they are buying their loved one an object of eternal love.  Engagement rings come in many shapes and sizes.  They differ in the types of cuts – from brilliant to emerald, from round to square, in the type of material i.e. gold, silver and the like, to the stone colour such as black, green and blue.  The choice is in fact endless but the important thing is that the choice made reflects the person who is going to wear it.

A Perfect Ending

Once a decision has been made as to what the perfect engagement ring is, the person buying it can feel a sense of delight.  They have now chosen the perfect engagement ring they are going to present to the person they love and are planning to marry.  All they have to do now is present it to their loved one, whether this is in a romantic spot such as a Gondola in Venice or the top of Kilimanjaro.  With the perfect engagement they can’t go wrong and they will have a perfect ending.
