After applying cleaning solution on jewellery and gemstone, you should rub softly with brush and wipe your gemstone and jewellery with cotton rag.

There are some more technologies to clean gemstones like ultrasonic clean. Ultrasonic cleaning is very useful for diamonds, ruby and sapphire, but it is not very a good method for all kind of gemstones. Some gemstone like pearl, amber and coral need to clean with moist cotton rags.

You should store your gemstone and jewellery separately because   gemstones are rock hard by their nature, so it can scratch each other, which can make mark on these. You should put your jewellery in different pouches and boxes, which prevent your jewellery to oxidize and gemstone to get moisture and other greasy moist.
