Today we are able to control, reduce or even eliminate many health problems and we should start with weight loss programs. It is commonly known that excess body weight increases the risk for cardiovascular disease, diabetes and cancer. If you follow many weight loss tips, your body will shrink down to the appropriate size and it will radically reduce the cause of disease that we are currently experienced.

Many people with excess body weight who decided to begin the struggle against obesity usually hope for easy and fast weight loss solution. They believe that some "miracle drugs" for weight loss will help them manage obesity in a short period of time without any effort. Unfortunately most of them do not achieve wishful results and stop treatment half way. Actual weight loss programs that really work usually require time. People should understand that consistency is the main law that will help them in the battle against obesity. Only a combination of corresponding nutrition, moderate physical exercises, cardiovascular trainings and consistence in your approach will become that “miracle drug” for you. Before you begin any weight loss programs you should be aware of many aspects that may help you in understanding the cause of your obesity and which way is the best for you to loose weight.

Normal body fat for a male is nearly 15 %, and for a female about 22%. It is not recommended for a woman to reduce fats below 22 percent because amenorrhea(cessation of the menstrual cycle) can occur. The average body fat for a man in the USA is nearly 25%, and for a female about 30%.

This high amount of body fat is the leading cause for a lot of diseases that we can observe in USA.


What are calories and is it important to count them?

Calorie is a unit of measurement that shows the amount of energy that requires to raise the temperature of one gram of water by one degree Celsius. One kilo calorie is the same as 1000 small calories. A lot of people are so consumed with counting calories, that they are certainly not enjoying the process of eating. If you radically reduce your caloric intake then your body goes into hibernation and as a result your metabolism is slowed down. The important thing for you is understanding what food suits your weight loss program better. After that you just need to follow your nutrition rules. The proper nutrition usually means increased consumption of fruits and vegetables, that are rich in vitamins, minerals and fibers. Also you should try to minimize sugars, salts and flour.


Why do many people gain back the weight that they just lost?

There are certain causes for fast weight loss: firstly, it is the loss of large amounts of water and not fats. Secondly is loss of muscle tissue, especially if you do not consume enough proteins and healthy foods. Therefore, the body breaks down the muscle tissue and not carbohydrates to be used as energy source. Te acquired energy is not enough for the whole human organism to work properly and you become hungrier. You eat more and gain back the weight that you just lost.
