The UK isn’t exactly known around the world for its scenic drives.

But there are some beautiful routes to take around our country, here are some of the best ones we found. However make sure that all of you insurance needs are taken care of before you leave to avoid any inconveniences.

Cornwall/Devon

With so much history and such beautiful landscapes it is no surprise that Cornwall made it onto our list. Whether you are looking to go surfing, hiking or just sightseeing, Cornwall has it all. Here are some directions on how to get there: If you are driving from London you will need to take the M4 to Bristol, then change onto the M5 to Exeter and finally take the A30 which crosses Devon and Cornwall. If you are coming from the midlands then you should head to Bristol and follow the directions given above.

The Salisbury Plains and Surrounds

With Stonehenge as its centerpiece, the plains are jam packed with beautiful historic sites to see. There are a number of towns to stay in as a base, why not look at Glastonbury, Bristol, Bath or even Salisbury. There are many landmarks to see in Wiltshire including Woodhenge, Avebury, Stanton Drew and many many more, so next time you are wondering where to go, maybe the south could be exactly what you looking for.

The Peak/Lake District

Quite possibly some of the most beautiful destinations on earth the Peak and Lake Districts are truly breathtaking and true gems worth exploring.

The Peak District

Situated in the North and Central parts of England, the Peak District National Park is the oldest national park on the British Isles.  It is also thought to be the second most visited national park (although you still feel very much isolated) in the world only after the Mount Fuji National Park in Japan. With many towns nearby that include Huddersfield, Manchester, Sheffield, Derby and Stoke-on-Trent it certainly is very accessible.  So if you are after some spectacular scenery to help you unwind, the Peak District could be the place for you.

The Lake District

Another very famous destination and the best way to experience the district is by driving yourself.  It is situated in North West England and is still as rural as England gets.  One of the only mountainous regions in the UK is truly is a must see. Access is very easy as well with towns like Lancaster, Kendal and Penrith nearby.

Remember that it is very important to ensure your Comparethemarket car and breakdown insurance, as well as your travel insurance policies provide sufficient cover for your trip and any inconveniences you might encounter before you leave. It could turn a dream holiday into a nightmare. We live in a beautiful country and it would be a shame if we didn’t explore it properly.
