Fans of classic gaming have been given the opportunity to relive their childhood through a new downloading service.
The
beta version Good Old Games (GOG) has now gone live, allowing computer users to
log on and pick up a cheap game or two that can be purchased over the internet
and stored on the hard drive of a PC or laptop.
According to Trusted Reviews, the new service offers a wide selection of arcade
classics that are DRM-free - which means once they have been paid for they are
they are "yours forever to do with as you wish".
Adam Oldakowski, GOG's managing director said that an early release of the
service had been very popular with PC and laptop users, allowing a proper launch to now take place.
"There is huge demand for DRM-free classic PC games," he said.
"We are endlessly grateful to the users for their support and
assistance."
GOG's current catalogue includes games such as Soldiers: Heroes of World War
II, Colin McRae Rally, MDK, Operation Flashpoint and Sensible Soccer.
