slope of caldera and situated on the northern side of the Island

various other shops, but Oia is less commercial in comparison to Fira.

naval maritime museum, many churches and the windmills. The naval museum is
just the introduction of the village
of Oia and a very good place to spend
one or two hours during the Santorini vacation to know about culture and
history of the whole Cycladic
Island. The findings of
museum include naval equipment, portraits and naval uniforms, colorful figureheads,
historic oil lamps and many more.
There are two ports in the village and they are Ammoudi and
Armeni. Visitors can go to Ammoudi port by rental or private cars. One has to
walk down the 235 steps, or by the help mule riding. Armeni port is much
smaller than the Ammoudi. The Armeni port was using for wine trading. To go to
this port you can catch boat departing from Ammoudi or you can go by walking
291 steps down. Mule riding is also available in both the ports.
Oia is popular and well known for its spectacular romantic purple
sunsets over the Island of Santorini Greece. What eyes see and senses
perceive, while sun melts in to the blue water of the Aegean
Sea, it’s wonderful colors sprinkle through out the sky can’t be
expressed by words.
