I have always thought that I was overweight and that knowledge have prevented me from doing the things that I wanted to do. Little did I know that I had control over my weight, and that I still have a chance to fulfill my dream.
So
you’ve read the headline and you’re thinking “of
course she’s marketing for the six week diet, that’s
why”. Sorry, but no, I am not just a marketer, I am also an
insecure woman for a long duration of my life until I found the six
week diet.
I
have gone through a lot of products, tried a lot of methods short of
surgery. I have always wanted to be thin just like those super models
I see on TV. I wanted to be a dancer, a part of the crowd. But I
never did have the courage to socialize because I knew I was
overweight. I tried to exercise but I was demotivated too early
because I was still fat months after.
And
then I heard about the six week diet everyone has been talking about,
how effective it was. At first I thought this was just one of the
weight loss fad I have heard but I decided to look it up and try to
discover what it is about. I did the initial assessment and that’s
when I realized that I’ve been too hard on myself. It looks as
if I wasn’t really overweight – my body was just of a
different type.
That’s
just one of the lessons I learned from this extreme makeover. There
are, of course, many others. For example, I have learned that weight
loss is not about getting thin – it is more about fitness and
having the right amount of energy to do the things I want to do. My
being overweight wasn’t because of my genes, rather, it was
self-imposed. I over ate when I was depressed. I ate junk food and
fast food because I didn’t have time to cook food. I realized
these were just excuses and that I could stop it if only I wanted to.
There’s
no such thing as a magic pill when it comes to weight loss –
that’s what an extreme makeover is all about. With the six week
diet, I learned to make changes in my lifestyle. I have also learned
that I don’t need to be a super model, but I can still be a
dancer.
