Even professional seo company can make mistakes in link building! Read the following article so you can learn from other people’s mistakes and make your link building task so much easier.
Search engine optimization is necessary for all websites to reach a higher page ranking. One of the most common techniques used in SEO is link building. With more sites pointing to yours, Google will soon reward you with a higher page ranking, and ultimately, a higher rank in the search engines results page (SERPs).

According to several studies, most internet users no longer view the second page of the SERP so the main goal of SEO is to reach the first page, or the top ten results.

Link building can be done in a variety of ways; the most common of which are directory and article submissions, social bookmarking, social media marketing, and blog/forum commenting. With most resources on the internet talking about the importance of back links, many sites have launched several link building campaigns and have availed of affordable seo services from a professional seo company. Unknown to many, however, even professional seo company can make mistakes in link building. Here are 5 of the most common:

1. Creating links on unrelated pages.
Inbound links are only important when they come from related sites. If you are dealing with electronic gadgets, then you better make sure that your backlinks are coming from sites which are related to technology, computers, or gadgets. Even if you have numerous links but they are coming from cooking or real estate, these are virtually useless in helping you gain a higher page ranking.

2. Using text links such as “Click here”, “View my site”, “About Us”, “Contact Me”.
Google bots use anchor texts in determining what your site is all about. This is the reason why most sites use their keywords as anchor text. When you use anchor texts like “click here for more information”, you are not telling search engines what your site is about, and this will not be counted for page rank.

3. Creating links on high PR sites which have hundreds of links.
Sure, a back link from a high PR site will help give you a greater PR but Google’s ranking is determined by the formula = page rank of linking page/number of links on that page. With a higher number of outgoing links on a page that’s pointing to you, Google knows that this is probably a directory or a link farm, and you can even get penalized because of it.

4. Placing links on dynamic pages.
Dynamic pages change and takes a long time to get indexed, hence, they ultimately won’t help you with your page rank. You will know a dynamic page if its URL includes special symbols such as &, ? and others.

5. Creating links on pages that spiders cannot crawl on.
Pages generated by Flash or JavaScript cannot be read by search engines. Also, texts within frames are ignored by search spiders.
