If, like many of us, Christmas and the New Year has been one long period of shopping, preparation, cooking and hosting of parties and you feel like you really need a day away, why not reward yourself with a trip to the Suffolk Coast.

The Suffolk coastline has an abundance of wonderful coastal and country walks and various places of interest to visit, a perfect place for walking off those extra pounds gained over the holiday festivities or for those wanting to make the most of their New Year resolutions to get fit and improve their health. It’s also about getting away from the quite exhausting crowds and the hustle and bustle of the holiday period.

With a number of Suffolk coastal destinations to choose from you can be spoilt for choice, although Aldeburgh in particular can provide the perfect solution with it’s wide shingled beach, it’s promenade and stunning views along the coast.

It’s hard to imagine a better place than Aldeburgh for blowing away the cobwebs and stress of all the recent festive planning. Fresh sea air and a walk along the beach are just perfect for working up an appetite too and Aldeburgh hosts a number of seaside establishments definitely worthy of a visit. The Bru restaurant, part of the Brudenell Hotel located directly on the promenade start their delicious Winter Offer from January 5th, a selection of lunchtime and evening meals from as little as £12.95 for a two course lunch, starter and main. It’s all about using fresh local ingredients at The Bru, locally reared meat from Suffolk farmers and fresh local fish, when available, from the fisherman’s hut on Adleburgh beach.
