As the credit crunch tightens its grip in the business sector, 2009 could be one of the most trying and turbulent years for some time for business owners. This will mean first and foremost that all of your business insurance policies are up to date and that they do meet your needs and demands. So before reading any further you need to ensure your business’ insurance is in order.

All done? Good, then we’ll begin. Saving money doesn’t start with big cost cuts, they are often hard to implement and justify, so as the saying goes, “it’s the small things that matter” and in this case it is very true. So here are a couple of ways to help you save some money for your business in 2009.

Maximise your business’ space or alternatively find a smaller more suitable office space. Small ways to do this is also to share conference rooms with other companies that might be in your building. And if you actually have unoccupied space in your office why not sublet it? It could be a nice extra income for the company?

Minimise your energy usage. By using less electricity you will be able to save a couple of pounds on your utility bills and it really couldn’t be easier! Small adjustments can make a very big difference like ensuring all computers and lights are turned off after hours, try to only boil as much water as you need and replace all of your normal bulbs with energy efficient light bulbs.

These are only a couple of small ways to save some cash, but have a good look at your business insurance policies and who knows, you might just be able to save even more than you thought by tailoring your policies to your exact needs!
