Strategies to win Hold 'Em

How to Win in Texas Hold ‘Em!

Texas Hold ‘Em is a poker game quickly growing in popularity around the world. The popularity was partially sparked by the World Series of Poker originally held at the Binnion’s casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. Since then, playing poker online has also exploded in popularity. In this guide, I’ll show you some strategies to maximize your potential for winning. In fact, if you’d like to play for FREE with a chance to win BIG, click here!

Keep in mind that to win in poker, you will have to adapt your strategies based on the cards as well as the players but let’s go over the basics. You’re dealt two cards and there is a round of betting. Afterwards, the “flop” comes which is the first three cards of the five communal cards. Another round of betting is followed by “fourth street” which, as you guessed, is the fourth card. The last card is presented after one more round of betting.

Let’s categorize the two cards you’re dealt. Pairs, Draws, Milkers:

 • Pairs: Pair of 10s or better. Smaller pairs aren’t of much note.
 • Draws: The two cards are setup for the communal cards i.e. suited two, three is set up for an ace, four, five for a straight or three cards of the same suite for a flush
 • Mikers: The “nuts,” two pair or better. For instance, suited ace, king will have the best hand if the flop is the same suit. Your objective then is to “milk” as much money from your opponents as possible.

So let’s talk about what hands you should pursue and which ones you should let go.

 • Keepers: Definitely pay to see the flop if you have: paired aces, kings, queens, jacks, (suited) ace-king, ace-queen, ace-jack, king-queen, jack-ten.
 • So-so: Call the blind but if someone raises fold if you have: ace-jack, king-queen, king-jack, king-ten, queen-ten, jack-nine, ten-ten, and smaller pairs
 • Suited connectors: Examples are suited eight-nine…this is a draw hand. Again, pay to see the flop but don’t go head to head if you’re facing aggressive betting.
 • Bow out of anything less

Now that you’ve got a working knowledge of strategy, why not try your luck at a FREE table and win some REAL cash?!
