Now that we have visited Nottingham we need to continue our journey west towards Merseyside. The trip is a reasonably short one so I would recommend leaving Nottingham early to get to Liverpool as soon as possible. Just remember to ensure you still have all of your vital documents (driver’s license, car insurance policy, etc) before you leave each city!

Liverpool is not only home to one of the biggest and fiercest rivalries in English football, but it has an incredibly rich history and you really do need to spend a good couple of days there to take in as much as you can.

If you love architecture then you are definitely going to love Liverpool with two of the most beautiful cathedrals in the country within the cities borders, the Anglican and the Metropolitan Cathedral are both internationally renowned buildings and are definitely worth a visit.

If however you are more interested in the arts and cultural aspect that Liverpool has to offer there is no shortage of things to see. Go and visit the World Museum Liverpool, the Walker Art Gallery, Tate Liverpool and the Merseyside Maritime Museum, they are all sure to live up to your expectations!
