Protecting the Environment: Carbon Offsets

The next type of carbon offset is the voluntary credits in carbon which help to promote the plantation of more trees around the world.  By planting trees, the human population will gain access to more oxygen that is freshly made by these newly planted trees because trees convert carbon dioxide into oxygen.  There are also local agencies and organizations that are dedicated to the preservation of trees and forests around the world.  They also make sure that the newly planted trees are placed in good spots that will not affect anyone in a particularly bad way, that they are grown properly and protected.  Everyone can plant a tree in their backyard, but if you cannot or do not have the space you can donate money to one of these organizations or volunteer groups to support the growth of more, new trees.  People need to be educated on these topics and need to be informed that everyone can help.

Carbon offsets provide an understanding to global warming and its affects.  Not many people are aware of global warming and its damages and less know about carbon offsets.  That is why it is crucial to let people know and to educated them regarding this subject.  If people do not understand the dangerous effects of global warming they will not care, but if they do know, they may be more inclined to help and to make a difference by switching electric companies, conserving more energy or simply by planting a tree or donating to organizations that will.
