Teaching your child how to use the potty is one of the more difficult things to teach any preschooler. It requires time and energy from both you and your little one. But together it can be done.
Children have the ability to study new things all on their own. But many things they must learn from their parents. Because of this it is upon us to ensure that we instruct them what is important and we do it right. One of the most awkward things to teach a child is how to use “the potty”.
Unlike the myths not all parents are born with the normal intuition to know exactly what to do with their kids and how to teach them everything they need to know. Teaching them how to potty train is one area that numerous of us struggle with. That's why we turn to each book and other parents to seek their advice.
Before you can set out to train your child they should be able to signal to you when they have wet or soiled their diaper. SeveralOther toddlers will skip over this process and will set out to tell you when they need to utilise the potty. You also have to make sure that you can commit at least three days or more where you and your child will work together. Don’t be demoralised if it will take longer for them to learn. Some children may not learn till they are three.
To make potty training somewhat easier on your preschooler you will need to permit them to see how they should use the potty. This entails that you will need to show them how it is used. Let them observe you utilising the potty and possibly even teach them how to flush the toilet.
Before you set out to teach them how they should utilise the potty you need to place a special potty training chair where your child plays and permit them to familiarize themselves with it and learn how to sit on it. Let them recognize that this is their chair and they can sit on it whenever they wish. Allow For them to sit on it for many days or weeks while wearing their clothes before you teach them how to sit on it without their pants and diaper.
Once your child recognizes what the potty is for and it is time to teach them how to utilise it. During this time your child needs to be wearing underwear and loose pants that can be removed off easily and speedily. Having them wear underwear that has a particular design will make them more keen to wanting to put it on.
When your child points to you that it is time for them to use the bathroom or when you see them stop playing or standing still - this is usually a sign that they are about to use the bathroom. This is the time to carry them to the potty. Set them on the potty training seat and wait patiently for them to finish.
Sit next to your child while they are on the potty and talk to them. Encourage them to use it and maybe even read them a book. Make sure that you don't correct them if they don’t use it every time. Rather praise them when they have and if they have not let them know that it is ok.
