Charmed Guide

Charmed is the ever popular TV drama series centring around the 3 feuding Halliwell sisters; Columnist and Conspiracy Buff Phoebe (Alyssa Milano); Museum Curator and the more serious Prue (Shannen Doherty); and finally Piper (Holly Marie Combs), the middle sister of the three, who often acts as mediator.

The three sisters, collectively known as The Charmed Ones inherit their grandmother’s manor in San Francisco and learn that they are descended from a witch coven. As they begin to experiment with spells and magic, they are targeted and attacked by various demons, warlocks and other evil beings.

The beginning of this adventure is when the sisters discover an ancient dust covered book in their attic, The Book of Shadows. As they sisters open and read through the centuries old book they see a wood carving of three women gathered around a circle, casting spells. An elaborate incantation reads "Hear now the words of the witches. The secrets we hid in the night. The oldest of spells are invoked here. The great gift of magic is sought."

The sisters three soon discover that the Book of Shadows is much more than just a book. It foretells the arrival of three sisters who will become the most powerful in a long line of white witches. The charmed ones are destined to protect the innocent from the evil forces of the supernatural and vanquish the demons who will stop at nothing to steal the witches powers and the Book of Shadows.

The sisters also discover that as powerful as they are individually, their true power can only be unleashed when they are together and are able to call on The Power of Three. They soon realise they must put aside their differences and stand united against the forces of evil.

Charmed explores the relationship between three different sisters, complicated by the discovery of supernatural powers that each possesses and consequences they share by keeping this family secret away from any outsiders as they find their respective ways in the world and pursue the ultimate destiny, the save the world and it’s inhabitants from the demonic forces of evil.
