The
Husqvarna Product Range
For anyone
who was around back in the 1960s, the name Husqvarna brings back memories of
motorcycles. Back then the Swedish company was very well known for powerful and
durable motocross bikes that were taking checkered flags right and left as
rider after rider crossed the finish line in major events around the globe on
the popular well proven make of of road motorcycles.
New
Competition From Japanese Manufacturers
Over the
course of succeeding years however, a few factors would combine into play in
the decline of Husqvarna motorcycles as the premier name in off road bikes. By
far the biggest factor was the entry into the market of names like Suzuki,
Honda and Kawasaki. Companies that were beginning to manufacture and market
their own on and off road motorcycles.
The Company
Is Sold To An Italian Firm
One more
lesser factor that figured into the decline in popularity of the Husqvarna off
road motorcycle was the sale of the Swedish company to an Italian firm that
packed up and moved the entire operation to Italy. The sale took place in the
late 1980s as the company was reeling in the face of the stiff competition from
the new Japanese competitors.
2007 – The
Company Is Again Sold To MBW
In spite of
the sale and relocation, Husqvarna motorcycles still struggled to make a
comeback as the quality and popularity of Japanese made motorcycles continued
to increase. However; another sale of the company in 2007, this time to well
known a motorcycle and automobile manufacturer BMW has shed a new light on the
possibilities of a new era for Husqvarna bikes.
Husqvarna
Chain Saws Dominate the Market
One product
arena where the Husqvarna name has continued to maintain dominance is chainsaws
and it's been that way for decades. In fact, Husqvarna chain saws have a well
earned reputation for quality and durability and Varanasi motors in particular
are known for being well built. In particular, it is the larger chainsaws that
are used by professionals where Husqvarna has dominated the highest market
share.
A Far More
Safer Chain Saw To Operate
In response
to growing competition in the chainsaw market in recent years, Husqvarna design
engineers have developed a number of unique safety features for their saws. New
developments such as a chain catcher stud, rear handle chain guard, inertia
activated chain brake and new anti vibration technology aimed at reducing user
fatigue. Developments that are drawing buyers who are impressed with what is
now the safest brand of chain saws on the market.
The Latest
Line Of Husqvarna Sewing Machines
In recent years though,
Husqvarna purists have been left scratching their heads over the introduction
of their new line of quality built sewing machines. It seems that the company
is determined to diversify and it is doing a good job of it with a line of
sewing machines that are made to the same high standards as all of the other
products that Husqvarna has manufactured over the years.
