Ladakh tracks, as it goes from various passes and through
the remote villages from valley of Indus to Nubra. Several Buddhist monasteries
have burgeoned in the valley. The Nubra is a branch of the Shyok River, which
is parallel to the Indus.
FROZEN RIVER: Zanskar people from a very long time have used the frozen
river trek. The traditional name of the
trek is ‘Chadar trek’.’ The trek was only way for Zanskaris from where
they can pass through, during the winters when all other ways are closed due to
heavy snowfall.
