Micro transmitters wage a condo war: your best friend is not always the best...

In the block of flats where I live, not everyone is everyone else’s best friend, to put it mildly.
I think we all know this kind of stories: people listening to loud music till late, a car parked a few inches across a line, laundry dripping on the balcony below… you name it, we got it!

Fortunately, in some cases, you can be lucky enough to meet real friends in the place where you live, and this seemed to be the case with some people living in my building: in one flat there was a young couple in their late 20s, and the one next to that was taken by a 30-something guy, who was working from home as a developer.

The relationship was so friendly that the single guy even had a copy of the couple’s home keys in case of emergency, and when some plumber or electrician was coming, he would just open the neighbors’ door for them.

What they did not know, though, was that their neighbor was a voyeur, obsessed with sex, and he had secretly planted eavesdropping device, microphones and microcameras all over their apartment, with which he was spying on them during their most intimate moments.
The whole apartment was completely bugged, there were high-sensitivity cameras and microphones concealed beneath smoke detectors, mirrors, electrical switches and so on.

Being a techie, he had set up a whole monitoring system that was transmitting directly to his computer next door.
Finding the material was easy for an expert: nowadays there are lots of so-called Online Spy listening devices Shops, where one can find not only audio transmitters, but a wide range of security-related items, both for surveillance and for protection against unlawful intrusions. Installing it was also a piece of cake, having access to his neighbors’ house.

The guy was always very friendly and ready to help their friends, he was frequently inviting them to his place and in return he was warmly welcomed to their place.
Until one day, when he inadvertently left a video open on his computer while his friends were visiting him, and the guy from the couple went checking his email and discovered the horrible secret.

The police searched the couple’s apartment, where they found at least 20 bugs, along with microphones and microcameras, which were spying them in every single corner of the house.
The microcameras were equipped with infrared motion detectors, so that he was effectively able to follow their every movement around their apartment.

The voyeur’s house was searched by the police who found a wide collection of intimate videos with the couple, and he was obviously arrested and is now facing trial. The couple are obviously shocked, and they learned (the hard way) the lesson that in this world you can really trust no one, and that an enemy can hide behind a friend.
