More and more Biodiesel plants are closing their doors and putting a stop to production because they do not have the funds to continue. The price of soybean - the main ingredient - has increased and made it more difficult for them to afford to produce anymore.
It seems the price for gasoline is not the only thing has suddenly soared to an exceedingly high price. Nowadays we are hearing news that the production for Biodiesel is slowly coming to a hold as manufacturers are do not have the power to to keep up with the financial problems that are gripping the nation.
Some of the producers for Biodiesel are either trimming back at how much they drop or are terminating production wholly. What was once a rather profitable fuel for people to utilise is hurt due to the monetary value of the soybeans that makes up 80% of the fuel in the country. The price for this component has doubled in the last year to a price of $11.50 per bushel.
Experts are hoping though that the market will level off before the end of the year and the production can get back to where it was. For now though they need to pay $3 per gallon in order to pay for the refining operation and transportation of the fuel. One thing clients will look forward to is the $1 gallon tax credit that they can acquire from the government. Unluckily they are still turning a loss even with this discount.
Not many people understand why the cost of the soybeans was raised. Several believe that there is less supply in South America where they get them from. Others believe that individuals are organising for the future and raising the prices early.
The strongest way to fight back is to produce Biodiesel fuel utilizing no foods. They recognise that to use food to produce the fuel would cause the cost for that fuel to increase because more would have to be grown for consumption for the people. However, no one is prepared to try it differently.
