As winter temperatures drop to below zero, a vehicle owner should check all fluid levels.  Make sure you have enough anti-freeze in your radiator, and your windshield washer fluid is suitable for extreme cold.  Also particularly important is the quality of oil a person uses.

Another good idea for vehicle winter maintenance is to make sure that your battery is in excellent condition. Use some steel wool and clean the top of the terminal posts, then reconnect them securely.

You will have some awful weather ahead of you, so make sure your wiper blades are in good condition. Having good, clear visibility is a must. During the winter season, temperatures will rise and fall to some degree, so will the inflation of your tires.  Winter maintenance means winter tires are a must. Studded tires make for better traction in snow. Check the air pressure of your tires often to make sure they are inflated to your vehicle's specified requirements. Proper tire inflation is a safety must, and will help out with your gas mileage.

When you do fill up during cold winter months, it is a good idea to add some fuel injection cleaner or gasoline anti-freeze.  It will help keep your engine running smoothly. One more good recommendation for winter maintenance is to make sure that the emergency brake of your vehicle is working properly; you may never know when you just may need it.  Keep all your windows, side mirrors, headlights, and taillights clean of snow.  Good visibility during winter driving is important to the safety of all on the road.
