Volunteer for ONG Manos Especiales in Peru

The Purpose of this organisation is give education to Down syndrome children and teenagers. Also assist parents with valuable information about the range of abilities and talents their children can reach through the specialized education. This organisation assist Children with Down syndrome and their parents offering them valuable sources of information and support. This placement needs volunteer because due to lack of funds, this NGO can´t afford to pay for special educators, speech therapists, occupational therapists, etc .

Volunteers can assist by doing following tasks:

- To provide stimulation and encouragement to children with Down's Syndrome. To provide specialized education designed to meet their unique needs. Assist in a variety of therapy: physical, speech teach the parents of a Down Syndrome kid how to make a concerted effort not to compare the developmental progress of a child with Down syndrome to the progress of other siblings or even to other children with Down Syndrome. Volunteers must be of age 30 or above with minimum education of Post Graduation.

Volunteers with the following special skills are preferred for the placement:

- Teacher

- English Teacher

- Math Teacher

- Science Teacher

- Physical Education

-Handicraft Design
