A Successful Fashion Designer – Giorgio Armani

Giorgio Armani is a Italian fashion designer born on 11 July 1934. He studied medicine and photography before completing military service. He is particularly noted for his men’s wear. After some time he become Italy's most successful designer. He is known today for his clean, tailored lines. He formed his company, Armani, in 1974, and by 2001 was acclaimed as the most successful designer to come out of Italy. In the early days, Giorgio Armani started as an assistant at the fashion house of Nino Cerruti from 1961 to 1970. That was the time where he designed men’s wear “Hetman”. In 1970, he left the fashion house of Nino Cerruti. After that, he began free launce work with the encouragement of Sergio Galeotti.

In 1974, he formed his own company with the partnered Sergio Galeotti and established a men’s wear named Armani. After the success of first men’s wear, he launched first women’s wear after on year later. The Armani label was well related with both classic and more relaxed men's designs as well as more masculine design styles for women. The Armani "power suit" gave a lot of women and men confidence in the workplace during the economic boom of the early 1980's. Giorgio Armani became the first fashion designer to appear on the cover of Time Magazine since Christian Dior and became one of the first designers to go out and approach celebrities about wearing his labels creations. He was the first designer who banned models with a body mass index (BMI) fewer than 18.

The Armani fashion house licenses its name for perfume, watches, and accessories. Armani developed and launched his own perfume line in 1982. Armani house presents perfume for both men and women. In the early days, the perfume introduced by house mainly targeted to the male population, but afterwards women’s perfume followed. Among the famous brands, some are Armani Men by Giorgio Armani, Armani Code Men by Giorgio Armani, Emporio Night Men by Giorgio Armani, Armani Women by Giorgio Armani, and Emporio Night Women by Giorgio Armani. Like that, there are so many perfume and cologne, which are famous around the world and people enjoying to wear their brands. After perfumes, many other personal products came from the Armani brand like sunglasses, shoes, and even several home accessories. That is the reason Giorgio Armani Beauty Wins Two Fragrance Foundation Awards at 35th annual American FiFi awards.
