During this reporter's March 2006 interview with the Whistleblower of Israel's WMD Program, Mordechai Vanunu, stated, "This administration tells me I am not allowed to speak to foreigners, the Media, and the world. But I do because that is how I prove my true humanity to the world. My freedom of speech trial began January 25, 2006 for speaking to the media, the same day as the Palestinian elections."

It has been said all stories are true, and some even happened. Both can be said of this excerpt from my first book...

On the November 26, 2006 WAWA Blog, this reporter raised the question if Mordechai Vanunu's Christian conversion could be the reason the Israeli government continues to hold him captive in Jerusalem, 2 1/2 years after he was released from 18 years in jail for telling the world the truth, that Israel had gone nuclear. I received the answer December 3, 2006.

I first met the Whistleblower of Israel's WMD Program on June 21, 2005. I have been reporting on his ongoing trials ever since.

On a chilly overcast Saturday morning on November 18, 2006, in our Nations capital, a potentially historic gathering of a few, committed, thoughtful progressive Christians gathered in the Washington Plaza Hotel.

By the sixth century before Christ, the conflicts in the land were already old news, and Jeremiah warned the people that all God could see was violence and destruction. Sickness and wounds were all around...

Beit Arabiya is the name of the home of the Arabiya family with seven children that has been demolished four times by the Israeli government and rebuilt four times by the efforts of ICAHD/Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions and the JCHR/Jurist Center for Human Rights, a Palestinian NGO focused on legal advocacy for Palestinians in the Jerusalem area.

The Christians of the Holy Land have decreased from 20% of the total population to less than 1.3% since 1948. 90% of Christian pilgrims to the Holy Land never even meet any Palestinian Christians; thus they are known as The Forgotten Faithful.

He sternly admonished me, "God gave this land to the Jews! The Bible never mentions Palestine, and that is that! God gave this land to the Jews and that is that!"

Mordechai Vanunu grew up in an Orthodox Jewish home but abandoned the faith by his mid teens. He converted to Christianity and was baptized just weeks before he was kidnapped by the Mossad, and after a closed door trial, spent the next 18 years in jail, most of it in solitary for telling the world the truth: that Israel had gone nuclear.

I was astounded to learn that in Natna, the Jerusalem refugee camp has The Wall butted up to the boy's high school. The 'playground' where 780 adolescents gather is in reality a cement ground about the square footage of a basket ball court. There is no view as it is walled in on all four sides by the high school, The Concrete Wall and two smaller cement walls.

On November 15, 2005, Senator Clinton stood on the Jerusalem side of The Wall and was quoted in Ha'aretz, expressing support for The Wall because it "is against terrorists" and "not against the Palestinian people." Senator Clinton did NOT visit the Little Town of Bethlehem in Occupied Territory, to see what The Wall has done to the Bethlehem economy. But I have.

At the Checkpoint and Terminal in Bethlehem, upon the thirty foot high Wall, a hundred square foot sign from The Minister of Tourism hangs and proclaims: PEACE, PEACE, PEACE.

"The methods and photos from Abu Grahib and Guantanamo were no shock to any Palestinian who had been in Israeli prison between 1967 and the '80's. All the methods used in Abu Grahib were normal procedures against Palestinians."

Since 1948, the Christian population of that land we call Holy has gone from 20% of the total population, to less than 1.3% and continues to shrink fast due to many reasons...

After Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez's remarks at the U.N., during which he referred to President Bush as "the devil"...

On September 6, 2006, Mordechai Vanunu was once more inside of the Israeli Supreme Court. On 9/18/04 in London, Yoko Ono awarded Mordechai Vanunu a peace prize founded in memory of and in the spirit of John Lennon's "Give Me Some Truth" released in 1971.

Over the past months, the White House has convened a series of off-the-record meetings about its policies in the Middle East with leaders of Christians United for Israel (CUFI), a newly formed political organization that tells its members that supporting Israel's expansionist policies is "a biblical imperative."

It has been said that evolution is being held up by fundamentalism and the surge of fundamentalism throughout all faith paths sends shivers through cynical atheists and mystics alike. The bumper sticker actually got it right: "We are spiritual beings having a human experience."

Those who support justice -or even simply the enforcement of basic international humanitarian law - must go beyond raising awareness of the issue to directly confronting those whose acquiescence facilitates current repressive attitudes.
